2 is 1.
1 is none.
And 3 is a spare.

For the uninitiated, preparedness has a longstanding rule that critical equipment should have redundancy. One flashlight is a flashlight. Two flashlights means you might still have a flashlight after Murphy discovers your location.

Steve simply took the equation to its logical conclusion.

Three means you have a backup for your backup—and apparently enough equipment to begin teaching undergraduate courses.

This shirt celebrates redundancy, P.A.C.E. planning, and the peculiar form of arithmetic that inevitably develops after you've watched one piece of “indestructible” gear fail at the worst possible moment.

Based on the winning community submission from Overtime Outlaw, because some lessons are too important to leave to accredited institutions.
